Billie Eilish to Perform as Sally for “The Nightmare Before Christmas” Concerts in LA

Billie Eilish has officially joined the lineup to perform as Sally during Disney’s live-to-film concert experience of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” in Los Angeles later this month.

The Shows Will Take Place on October 29 & 31 in LA

Producer Danny Elfman, who composed the music for the original film, is also on board to reprise his role as Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town. Other confirmed guests include “Weird Al” Yankovic and Ken Page singing the roles of Lock and Oogie Boogie. Sally was voiced by Schitt’s Creek star Catherine O’Hara in the original film.

Elfman made the announcement via an Instagram post. In which, he said that Eilish will be taking on the vocals of Sally and will perform “Sally’s Song,” backed by a full orchestra. As part of the special event, the audience will see the songs from the movie being performed live.

The concert will take place on 29 and 31 October at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. While the first night has already sold out, the Halloween Night event still has tickets available.

It’s Been 28 Years Since “The Nightmare Before Christmas” Came Out! Can You Believe it?

“I’m absolutely thrilled to have Billie joining up with the nightmare crew!” Elfman said in a statement to Billboard, which announced the news. “This will be a real treat (not a trick)!”

The original Tim Burton film first debuted in 1993. Since then, it has become a staple of holiday (both Halloween and Christmas) viewing in the years since its arrival. For the film’s 25th anniversary in 2018, Elfman previously brought the movie’s music to life with the assistance of an orchestra and choir at the Hollywood Bowl. For that event, John Mauceri led the orchestra, and Mauceri will return to conduct the orchestra for this live-to-film event.

Eilish has expressed her admiration for the film’s director, Tim Burton, in the past. Earlier this year, the filmmaker appeared in the singer’s video for Vogue, in which famous fans asked her questions about her life and music.
