This year’s Billboard Music Awards is shaping up to be as memorable as 2020’s. Starting things off with Megan Thee Stallion. The star-studded rapper is set to perform on stage once again, proving that she’s still that bitch. Continuing this news is something no one saw coming! After 23 Years of pure absence, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are making their triumphant return to the BBMA stage. Icon Award winner, Mary J. Blige will be performing as well.
It doesn’t end there for the night of live music. Many other artists like Latto and Burna Boy will be taking the stage. The Billboard Music Awards announced other performers just this weekend: Silk Sonic, Florence + The Machine, Morgan Wallen and Maxwell.
Latto is going head-to-head with Megan, Doja Cat, and Olivia Rodrigo for Best Female Artist. It’s honestly anyone’s guess as to who will win given just much of a powerhouse these women are. As for the other nominees, the one leading the pack is The Weeknd. I’m honestly excited with his nominations racking up to a grand total of 17 awards!
That isn’t to discount any other artists as Doja Cat is only 3 awards behind to tie with him. All in all, the Billboard Music Awards on May 15th are shaping up to be an eventful night for music. I for one hope The Weeknd wins Top R&B Album for his work on Dawn FM.
