Bastille’s frontman Dan Smith has been writing new songs with Lewis Capaldi and Yungblud.
Lewis Capaldi’s Comeback Might be Coming Soon
Dan has reportedly been working on new material for Capaldi’s highly anticipated second album. His debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent came out in 2019, and it gave us hits like the iconic “Someone You Loved” and “Before You Go.” Hopefully, we don’t have to wait much longer to hear what the pair have been working on!
Dan recently told the Daily Star newspaper, “I spent a few days doing some writing with Lewis. I know that he’s taking his time and wants to get it right. It was lovely to see him and he’s as hilarious as ever – never turn down the chance to hang out with Lewis.”
Yungblud Has Teased a New Era
On the other hand, he opened up about also doing some songwriting with Yungblud; whose last album was 2020’s weird! But started teasing a new era last year with the release of his single “fleabag.”
Dan added, “I did a bunch of writing with Yungblud recently, we met for the first time at the Olympics and got on really well. I’ve also done stuff for a bunch of new artists which was fun.”
Dan And Bastille Enjoy Working With Other Artists
Bastille haven’t stayed quiet when it comes to sharing new music, though. Just a couple of weeks ago, the band shared their newest album Give Me The Future, which included songs like “Thelma + Louise” and “Shut Off The Lights.” Dan also spoke about the band making an effort to collaborate with other artists and give themselves other experiences and influences.
Dan said, “It was all about letting more people into our world. So I’ve met a lot of artists as a songwriter, which I really love because it’s such a different hat to wear. It’s so nice to go in a room with some interesting people, chat for a while and leave at the end of the day and that’s it.”
