You see the drop?
Last Friday, Bas, J.Cole and Lil Tjay released the song and video for yet another hit on the summer playlist. “The Jackie” is the latest single from Bas himself and its been awhile since we’ve heard directly from the Dreamville artist.
The distorted tropical melody is simple and the 808 hits hard, and that is a perfect formula for the talented rappers. In addition to its catchy flow, the video also features the trio riding around Jackie Robinson Parkway in New York with a special guest.
The actor, comedian, and Youtuber RDC was also featured in the video. RDC is known for his skits about J.Cole himself. He has also gone viral for his impersonation of Lebron James.
The video shows all their funny side and keeps the upbeat positive vibe the song has. This is the second leading release of 2021 and presumably the first single from his upcoming album. Before this, we heard Bas with PRICE and Wyclef Jean on “Selfish” in March. It also comes off of Bas’ three appearances on Cole’s May 2021 album, The Off-Season.
As For Lil Tjay, he’s had his own string of success with his third studio album Destined 2 Win which dropped back in early April of this year.
What’s Next For Bas and J.Cole
With this single, it marks the official come back of the rapper Bas. And with help from his Dreamville friends we can expect to see a great album coming soon. Both J. Cole and Bas also plan on hitting the road toward the end of the summer with the whole Dreamville squad performing Dreamville on the Rocks at one of the biggest venues in the world in Morrison, CO.
J. Cole has also released the tickets and date for his Off-Season Tour starting in September. The concerts will feature 21 savage and Morray.
