KennyHoopla Has The Punk Rock Torch

The reincarnation of Blink-182 is here and his name is KennyHoopla. The 23-year-old singer-songwriter found his roots in emo rap, but now has evolved to working with punk icons…. Those of which have passed him the punk rock torch.

A Star In His Own Lane

With his main start being in 2016,  KennyHoopla was first known to most as an emo rapper that would dabble in rock. Similar to Playboy Carti or Lil Uzi Vert, Kenny envisioned making a path in the industry through emo rap. That was until landing the alternative rock hit that would change his life and create his own path.

In 2020, KennyHoopla released the single “How Will I Rest in Peace if I’m Buried by a Highway?.” This track quickly became his most popular song to date. It garnered praise for its unique post-punk and new wave inspired sound. The track also received radio play on alternative music stations, even peaking at eight on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart.

Eventually, later on in 2020, the full EP dropped. Titled how will i rest in peace if i’m buried by a highway?// , it also included hits like “plastic door//.”

This was just the beginning for the new age rock star. His chaotic energy, mysterious, screaming vocals, and fast-paced riffs remind many of an unforgettable era of punk: the 1990s and early 2000s. Influences like Linkin Park, Blink-182, and Sum 41 can all be heard in every song on the EP.

KennyHoopla Is Officially On The Rise and Has Our Attention

Furthering the up-and-coming artist’s potential, the Ohio-born rocker has the recognition of legendary drummer Travis Barker. The two have also gotten a chance to collaborate on the nostalgic punk rock banger, “ESTELLA//“.

KennyHoopla’s overall vibe, along with the vocal presence that he brings to the table, shows that punk is still alive. Regardless of getting his start in rap and a different genre of music, Kenny knows how to write his way straight into a rocker’s soul.

As far as what has he’s been up to this year, KennyHoopla has not released anything on his streaming platforms – with the exception of YouTube. There are a few live performances of his most popular hits on there. He has been quiet since last November regardless.

Hopefully this means that he is cooking up something that will keep our heads banging. Who knows? Maybe he will also have a chance to link up with some of Travis Barker’s other friends like Machine Gun Kelly or Yungblud.

All we know for now is that Kennyhoopla is definitely on the rise and creating some punk rock and alternative hits that would make the greats proud.

If you haven’t listened to this amazing artist yet, check out a live performance of the song that put him on the map.
