American Music Awards 2021: BTS, Megan Thee Stallion and Olivia Rodrigo

BTS butterIt was recently announced that some of the biggest names in the current music scene will hit the stage of American Music Awards 2021. BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Bad Bunny and Megan Thee Stallion stand out among others.

Like the previous editions, the 49th edition of the AMAs will reward the most famous artists, singles and albums of 2021.

The 2021 AMAs will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 21st at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. It will stream the next day on Hulu. The host of the ceremony will be Cardi B. together with Queen Latifah, as the only rappers in history to host the AMAs.

BTS collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion

The South Korean boy band, BTS will perform on the stage of AMAs with Megan Thee Stallion. They will deliver their hit song Butter. This is the first time that the band and the rapper will perform their collaboration live.

“We’re so excited to be bringing you the WORLD PREMIERE performance of “#BTS_Butter” in person at the @AMAs with our friend Megan Thee Stallion!” said the band on their Twitter account. Six-time AMA winners’ 2021 performance will mark their return to the AMA stage. In fact, in 2020 they performed from Korea.

AMAs announces Olivia Rodrigo and Bad Bunny

Also Olivia Rodrigo will join the show. Although she hasn’t announced which song she’ll perform yet. Not only is this the young pop star’s first-ever AMA performance, but also the first time AMAs nominated her. Despite this, AMA nominated the singer for seven awards, including Artist of the Year. Moreover, her hit single Driver’s License earned the nominee for trending song, music video, and pop song. With her seven nominations, Rodrigo leads this year’s nominees. Close to Rodrigo is The Weeknd with six nominations.

 

Also Bad Bunny has been confirmed for his performance. He will play the world premiere performance of his song Lo Siento BB:/

Other performances

Earlier this week, the AMAs announced additional artists who will perform on the show. Among these artists is Tyler The Creator and Måneskin. Tyler, The Creator will play songs from his new album, Måneskin will perform their famous version of Beggin’. Moreover, Mickey Guyton, Walker Hayes and Zoe Wees will partcipate in the show. They will play respectively All American, Fancy Like and Girls Like Us. In addition, Diplo will serve as DJ and musical curator.

This year, fans can vote for the Awards through TikTok. Fans can vote once per category per day by searching “AMAs” on TikTok. Tickets are also now on sale now at axs.com.
