Aly & AJ Don’t Stop on “Get Over Here”

The indie-pop duo of sisters Aly & AJ are back with a brand new single. “Get Over Here” arrives after the release of their latest album, and teases a deluxe version coming soon.

The Sisters Have an Album Deluxe Version on the way

Aly & AJ have made 2021 their year. After having a huge comeback with their new album a touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun in May, the sisters have already released three new singles. “I Need My Girl” and “Pretty Places” followed up the album. Now, “Get Over Here” arrives and gives us a hint at a deluxe version of the album coming next year.

“Get Over Here” has Aly & AJ’s classy style, and sounds like a breeze of fresh air of the last couple of summer days. They sing about wanting someone so deeply, they don’t care what time of the day it is. The entire day, all they think about is that person and getting to spend some time with them. “I want you when it’s night or day. Yeah, I can’t stand it when you’re away. I like when you show up this late. Get over, get over here,” they sing in the chorus.

Aly & AJ Wanted to Give “Get Over Here” its own Time in the Spotlight

Speaking about the new song and the upcoming deluxe album, Aly Michalka tells Consequence, “Most ‘deluxe’ songs feel like discarded tracks that didn’t originally make the record. But this one was actually a song that felt so strong, we had to save it and give it its own moment later on.”

Aly & AJ also spoke with American Songwriter, and they revealed more details about it. “With this song, we really wanted to capture the yearning & anticipation that comes in the early stages of a relationship. Writing this song actually helped kickstart the process of creating our latest album. When we were thinking about a deluxe edition of ‘a touch of the beat…’, we knew this had to be on it.”
