5 Seconds of Summer Release “Me Myself & I”

Australian pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer released their newest single “Me Myself & I,” following on “Take My Hand.”

“Me Myself & I” is All About Regrets

5SOS is on a roll! The band released the third single off their recently-announced upcoming album, 5SOS5. “Me Myself & I” follows on other recent releases of “Take My Hand” and “COMPLETE MESS.”

“Me Myself & I” is a guitar-driven song that talks about making mistakes that you later regret, especially when it comes to being selfish to someone you love. “Guess, I guess I got what I wanted. I never knew what I needed, leave it. Up to me to fuck it up without a good reason. I know, I know that it was my own fault. I never picked up that phone call, oh, Lord. All these broke hearts but mine’s the one bleedin’….Now it’s just me, myself and I,” Luke sings.

“‘Me Myself and I’ explores the emotional cycle of feeling like you can do everything on your own and that you don’t need anyone else, but eventually realizing that sometimes you push away the best things in your life,” Luke said in a statement. “We love this song and hope other people connect with it as much as we do.”

5SOS5 is Coming in September!

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1, he discussed the album. “The album is definitely very introspective. I think like a lot of people in the last couple years, the only way to look was inward. Well, for us anyway. And lyrically looking into, I don’t know, everything that happened to us was a big topic. And not doing this every day and being on the road was a different experience for us. The whole album is, for me, the most introspective, the most lyrically, if I can say beautiful and … I don’t know. There’s just so much heart in it.”

5SOS5 is named after the fact that the album will actually be 5SOS’s fifth album. But the number of songs included in it has nothing to do with it. Because, guess what? The album will feature a staggering amount of 19 songs! We certainly can’t wait to hear them all. The best part? It’s coming out later this year. We can get our hands (and ears) on it on September 23!
